It all started when i joined the teens chapel at church more than a decade and a half ago. A young guy in glasses spotted my discomfort and awkwardness and proceeded to spend time with me, keeping me company, asking me why i was quiet and what my name was,…

We became close friends over the years, singing High School Musical songs (Sorry Michael!), “gisting”, and joking together….He quickly became my safe haven and i didnt take me long to realise that it was all I needed.

I admitted my blossoming feelings to him first but yo….. this guy wasn’t ready and literally pushed me away, breaking my heart but we still remained good friends.  

Several years went by and having been hurt from a relationship 8 years back, i finally heard the words i had been wishing for. God brought what is mine to me!!!!!! I remember him virtually abandoning work to come and sit with me, concerned about my wellbeing.. I remember us sitting just by the pavement in front of the National theatre… I couldnt help but cry and he was a gentleman… He sat by me till family was ready to leave. That evening was when he admitted he his feelings and told me that even if i “friendzoned” him, it will make him content , just to be in my life… Eii!!

I took some time to think of it and then accepted so we unofficially started dating…and here we are today.
